Despite the best efforts and hard work of leaders and organizations from all sectors of American society, many returning veterans still struggle to make a healthy return to civilian life. The United States has detailed, comprehensive plans in place to help citizens through everything from natural disasters to national emergencies, but we lack an equivalent national plan to effectively assist large numbers of returning troops. This is not merely a moral issue but a national security issue as well.
Learn more about the challenges facing our veterans
The Campaign for Healthy Homecoming answers these challenges. This unprecedented campaign is leveraging the work and contributions of leading nonprofit and veteran service organizations, government departments and agencies, corporations, and academic institutions to transform the way America supports returning troops and their families.
The campaign’s objective, a National Strategy for Healthy Homecoming, will provide a framework for all stakeholders—national, regional, and community based—to more effectively coordinate their efforts. Together we will offer a roadmap for troops as they reintegrate into families, work, school, and communities after their service.
There are three ways to support the Campaign for Healthy Homecoming and make a positive difference in the lives our military families:
1. Become a Member
It costs nothing for you or your organization to join the campaign as a member and make your voice heard in the process. Only by working together can we ensure that service members make a healthy return from war - no single organization or government department can accomplish this alone.
